What Is Forestry Mulching?
Forestry mulching uses a single specialised machine to cut, grind and process vegetation directly back into the ground as organic mulch. Unlike bulldozing or burning, there's no pushing material into piles, no burn-offs, and no need to haul debris off site. The machine moves through the vegetation in one pass — scrub, blackberry, tea tree, bracken, regrowth and small trees are all processed on the spot.
The result is clean, open land with a layer of organic mulch on the ground. That mulch suppresses regrowth, retains moisture, reduces erosion and returns nutrients to the soil. Your property is immediately usable — no waiting for cleanup, no scorched ground, no bare soil exposed to rain.
What We Can Mulch
Our Kubota SVL95-2 with Fecon Bull Hog mulcher head handles a wide range of vegetation:
- Dense scrub, bracken and blackberry infestations
- Tea tree, wattle and woody regrowth
- Small trees and saplings up to approximately 200mm (8") diameter
- Gorse and invasive species
- Fallen timber and storm debris
- Overgrown fence lines and access tracks
For larger trees requiring removal, we work alongside trusted local arborists — we'll be upfront about what's achievable with our equipment and recommend the right combination of services for your property.
How It's Different From Other Methods
Most landowners we speak to have previously used slashers, manual clearing, or burn-offs to manage their land. Forestry mulching is faster, cleaner and more thorough than all of these for dense or woody vegetation. A slasher handles grass — it doesn't touch blackberry or tea tree. Manual clearing is slow and expensive. Burn-offs require permits, create smoke, and leave bare scorched ground that's prone to erosion and weed regrowth.
One day of forestry mulching regularly achieves what months of manual work couldn't.
What to Expect on the Day
We arrive with the machine loaded on the trailer. Most residential and lifestyle block jobs are completed in a single day. We work methodically through the vegetation, selectively clearing where needed and preserving trees and vegetation you want to keep. At the end of the day you'll have open, mulched ground and clear access to parts of your property you may not have seen in years.
After the job we provide photos of the completed work and a written record of what was done — useful for insurance, CFA compliance, or council records.
Working Alongside Local Arborists
Some of the best results come when forestry mulching and arborist work happen together. Where larger tree removal or tight access work is needed first, we work alongside trusted local arborists to get that done, then come in behind them to mulch the remaining vegetation, clear the debris and finish the job. Property owners get a complete result without needing to manage two separate contractors.
When you enquire, let us know if there are trees you're unsure about — we can advise on whether arborist involvement makes sense and help coordinate that from the start.
No Area Left Unfinished
Not every corner of a property is accessible by machine. Where the mulcher can't reach, we carry chainsaw and brushcutter to make sure the full job gets done. Fence lines, steep banks, tight spots near structures — nothing gets left half finished because the machine couldn't fit.
