This is such a common story, and it's not a knock on anyone. You keep something in check for years, then life gets busy and you let it slip for a bit, and all of a sudden a patch you had under control has turned into a paddock you can't get through. That's just the reality of managing land. There's always a lot to stay on top of, and this stuff moves fast when you take your eye off it.
Opening the land back up
The good news is that opening it back up can happen fast too. In a job like this, the mulcher knocks down a paddock of dense weed in no time. It reclaims pasture that had been lost, opens up the access and tracks between paddocks, and gives you the chance to get back in control quickly, instead of watching it get worse another season.
But it's worth being straight about how this kind of work actually plays out, because mulching is one part of it, not always the whole answer.
Planning what happens after mulching
Depending on the weed and what you're trying to achieve, a paddock like this might need more than a single pass. Some landowners choose to spray as part of getting on top of it. Some slash the area for a period after mulching to knock back the regrowth before it gets established again. Others plant through the mulched area once it's opened up, to get desirable pasture or vegetation back in and holding the ground.
There isn't one right answer for every property, and the best approach depends on the weed, the paddock and what you want the land doing afterwards.
