Lately I've had a real run of enquiries from people getting a property ready to sell. The story is nearly always the same. The vegetation has slowly become overgrown over the years, it's got to the point where it feels unmanageable, and the owners are worried it makes the place look neglected just when they need it looking its best. It's one of the most common reasons people are calling me at the moment.
A big change in half a day
The good news, and the part that surprises people, is how quickly it can be turned around. This job was half a day's work. In that time we opened the whole area back up and completely changed how the space presents. When you're preparing a property for sale, that's a big result for not much time, and it can make a genuine difference to how a block looks to a buyer walking through it.
When well-intended planting gets out of hand
This particular property had a long line of boobiallas that had been planted years ago. The owners had been told the plants were fire resistant when they went in, but over time they'd grown far bigger than anyone had planned for. It's a story I hear a lot. Something goes in for a good reason, and years later it's taken over far more space than anyone bargained for. Here they'd crowded out the pathway, taken over the space, and become too much to keep on top of.
Opening the space while keeping what matters
So we went through and opened it right back up. We removed the overgrown boobiallas that were dominating the area and crowding the path, while working selectively around the established gums and the natives worth keeping. The pathway is clear again, the space is open, and the good trees are standing on their own instead of being swallowed up.
That's the difference between clearing a property and managing it. We take out what's got out of hand and work around what's worth keeping, so the block looks cared for rather than stripped. Forestry mulching also processes the material on site, so there's no burning and nothing to cart away, which keeps the whole job quick and clean.
